( The work )
Royal Home sells mtumba and its own baby-wear range, and mtumba does not behave like normal retail stock. A bale is bought as one cost, opened, counted and sold piece by piece, so the shop needed to know whether each bale actually made money.
We built a Windows till that works with no internet. Cashiers pick their profile and sign in with a six-digit PIN, sell by barcode or search, hold baskets, take deposits paid in instalments and record M-Pesa references that cannot be reused. Receiving a bale records its purchase, transport and other costs, spreads the landed cost across the pieces and reports how each bale performed.
The owner controls staff accounts and permissions, returns within seven days with refunds or customer credit, quotations, expenses, Code 39 barcode labels and PDF business reports. Once connected to its online backup, the till sends every change to the cloud, so the owner can check the shop from a dashboard even when the shop computer is off. There is a dark mode too.
